While nation mourns Sendong's dead, Aquino partying with actresses in Palace?

MANILA -- Where was President Benigno S. Aquino III on Sunday evening, as the people of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan cities and several other areas in Visayas and Mindanao grappled with the devastation of tropical storm Sendong? Apparently, partying with his security personnel in Malacanang, enjoying the jokes and performances of  actresses.
This was according to a post on Twitter by actress Valerie Concepcion on Sunday, the same day the combined death toll in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan climbed to more than 600.
“Done w/ work.. Tnx for having me.. :) It was nice to see Pres. P-Noy laughing at my jokes & enjoying my performance..ü #Malacañang #PSGNight," Concepcion said in her tweet that has since been deleted as of posting time.
In her series of tweets, Concepcion said she was performing three songs for the President and was alongside singer Jessa Zaragosa, who was one of the performers.
InterAksyon.com called the Presidential Security Group early Monday and confirmed that the PSG Christmas party was indeed held in Malacanang Sunday night. But the PSG personnel, who refused to be identified, said he was "not authorized to say if the President" was there.
But the President's brief stay at the PSG Christmas party was also confirmed by Manuel Quezon III, undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office, who had earlier tried to dismiss the allegations that Aquino was out partying with actresses in Malacanang instead of helping the victims of tropical storm Sendong in €Mindanao. Aquino was at the party for only 30 minutes, he added.
Quezon also tried to justify the President's presence at the party as his way of being with those "who saved his life." "It couldn't be canceled (unlike the annual Cabinet Xmas Party scheduled for tonight, which was canceled yesterday afternoon, so funds could go to relief),” he said Monday on his Twitter account.
After several queries on Twitter, Quezon initially said that the PSG Christmas party was held last December 10, not December 18 as actress Valerie Concepcion revealed in her message on the microblogging site.

REACTION:

I think, President Aquino should prioritize first the victims of the typhoon Sendong before going to the party in Malacañang with some celebrities.  He should show support to the people who was devastated by the typhoon and he should make a plan on how to help them recover from this calamity.  As a president, he should do his jobs first and not to hear jokes from the celebrities while the whole nation mourns.  He should make a plan immediately specially because the number of deaths increases day by day.  He should make a plan on how to dispose the dead bodies that were found because this becomes a threat to the health of the people.  He should make a way to supply food and water to the victims of the typhoon.  Just think of what will people tell to him?  The whole nation mourns while he is having fun at the Malacañang?  Where is President Aquino when the nation needs him?

Championship Games '09

Championship Game ‘09
It was a sunny afternoon in the barrio of Rasig. People are busy preparing for something.  Something that only happens once a year.  Kids and adults are very excited for the event.  It is a Basketball Championship battle between I, Onyok, Jake, Bau, Ecs and the rest of the Blue Team against Ian, Rodnick, Enzo, Rich , Rainer and the rest of the Black team.  The time has come.  We already went in the court and people are cheering for their bets.  Blue Team’s center, I am going for the tip off against Black Team’s center player, Rodnick.  The whistle has blown, the ball was tossed, and Charles got the ball and immediately passed it to Jake, the point guard of the team.  He was heavily guarded by the point guard of the Black Team, Ian, who is also the captain of their team.  Jake passed Ian’s defense and immediately took the shot.  The ball didn’t go and Jake said “Wala, kunin nyu ang rebound!”. Coming from nowhere, Onyok strongly grabbed the rebound, alley-oops it and got the point and Blue team is up 2-0.  The game continued till the first half is done. The score is 45-42 in favour of the Blue team.  During the 3rd quarter the Black team scored three consecutive three-pointers and because of that the score is in favour of the Black team, 45-51.  I saw my co-team mates very tired and they are like losing hope in winning the game so I told them that “Wag tayong susuko! 6 points lang yan! Kaya pa yan.  Tiwala lang. Matatalo rin naten yan!”.  When the 3rd quarter was ended, the score is 59-61 in favour of the Black team.  The game continued and the time is down to the last 30 seconds of the 4th quarter.  Black team is still in the lead, 77-80.  The ball possession was ours.  Ecs will be inbounding the ball.  He is so nervous.  Ecs said, “Lapit kayo! Kalas kayo sa mga bantay nyu!” and so we did. Ecs looked for Bau in the three point lane and passed it to him. Ecs said, “Tira!” and so Bau aimed for the three pointer.  The ball went to the ring and was shot. The score is now tied, 80-80.  25 seconds left in the 4th quarter and Rainer passed the ball to Ian and Ian said, “Ubos oras lang!”.  I guarded Ian tightly and I was able to steal the ball from his hands.  10 seconds left, I run towards the basket and aimed for the layup.  I did not succed to shoot that layup but I was fouled by Ian. Only 3 seconds left then when I took my two free-throws.  My first attempt did not go in.  So the score is still tied 80-80.  When it is already my last free-throw to take, I am very nervous.  I even heard the audience shouting, “Wala yan!” but I said to myself, “Kailangan kong ma i-shoot itong bolang to dahil dito nakasalalay ang team.”  After that, I focused to the basket and shoot my last remaining free throw.  The free-throw was good, it went in and we are up by a single point, 81-80.  And the whistle has blown, we won the Basketball game, we are the ‘09’s Basketball Chapions! Everybody is very happy. And from then on, I became a mini-star in our barangay because of that winning shot of mine.  THE END!
